About us

Blue Health Intelligence is building a new standard for preventive care. From Amsterdam, we combine medical expertise, the latest technology, and design to provide people with accessible insights into their health.

Blue Health Intelligence was founded by Onno Huyghe, Peter-Paul de Leeuw, and Leanne Verdonck. Together, they bring experience in building and scaling consumer-oriented technology companies along with medical and operational expertise from healthcare practice. This combination forms the basis of everything we do: medically grounded, well-designed, and focused on people, with the goal of keeping people healthy for as long as possible.

Mission and philosophy

We believe in prevention. A healthy life starts with understanding your body, even before symptoms appear. By combining medical expertise, evidence-based diagnostics, and advanced technology, we provide you with clear insight into risk factors for your health. Both for today and for tomorrow.

Why it is important. In Europe, 1.8 million deaths are avoidable each year. 60% can be prevented by reducing risk factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and high blood pressure, while the remaining 40% is treatable with timely and high-quality care. That is why we believe in the power of prevention.

Focus on preventable diseases. Our health check is designed around the conditions and risk factors that have the greatest impact on health and longevity, based on DALYs (Disability-Adjusted Life Years). Together with our medical advisory board of doctors and scientists, we have created a thoughtful, scientifically-backed selection of research.

Test, track, and improve. By providing data-driven health insights and targeted support, we help people identify risks early. We assist them in improving their health with clear follow-up paths and an action plan to reduce the chance of chronic diseases.

Our insights are based on scientifically grounded measurements and validated risk models. We don’t measure everything that can be measured, but rather what is demonstrably predictive of future health.
